Dry fish pakora- Dry fish fritters

Sorry for the long gap I just got busy with work and travel. I did try some interesting recipes in between. Here's one from my hubby. I start my guest section recipes with this one. I had asked my friends to give me their favourite recipes with pics many have given me and some still have to. This recipe was my hubby's idea and we went ahead and experimente
d it. I was quite apprehensive because the fish we used stinks a lot. But it turned out well. So kudos to my hubby's invention. I guess dry prawns would be a better substitute so if anyone of you try them out let me know. We used anchovies.

Ingredients for Dry fish pakoras

Dry fish- 100gm
Green chillies slit- 6
Onions sliced-5-6
Gram flour- 100gm
Salt- a pinch
Chilli powder- a pinch
Water- to make batter
Oil- to fry

Directions

Make a thin batter using gram flour , water, salt and chilli powder.

Add sliced onions, chillies and washed dry fish to this batter.

See to it that the consistency of the batter is not too thin.

Heat oil a pan. And now make small patties and fry them till they are golden brown.

I somehow hated the idea initially but my hubby was convinced it would be tasty. I liked it eventually and the mustard sauce helped take away the sharpness of the dry fish. I am sure its nothing new because I have seen many oriental recipes use dry fish but then it sure was new to our Kerala taste buds.
